Overview
General Information Our fall house league program is for the beginner as well as the developing player. The program consists of girls and boys teams in the U6 through U14 age brackets. The house league season is an eight-week schedule running from the Saturday after Labor Day through the end of October. All games are played on Saturday morning or early afternoon. The league is non-results oriented up through the U10 level.
Philosophy: The fall house league program stresses individual player development and having fun with the game of soccer. Players receive training from advanced-licensed coaches through BYSA's partnership with Challenger Sports/British Soccer. This unique aspect of our program insures that every player gets the benefit of quality and age-appropriate instruction. Parent volunteers handle game-day coaching duties and team with Challenger trainers for practices.
Who can participate in the Fall 2010 house league season? Any child born between 8/1/1996 (U14) and 12/31/2005 (U6).
What is the program fee for 2010 Fall House League? The program fee is $80.00 per player. If you have more than two children, the fee for child 3+ is $50.00. Additionally, an annual Field Use Fee will be assessed by the Town of Barrington on all local youth sports leagues. The fee is assessed based on the number of players registered to a league. The current fee is $10.00 per player. The purpose of the Field Use Fee is to defray the cost of field maintenance.
The fees do not include a uniform, which can be purchased at the Gob Shop (Main Street, Warren). The uniform cost is under $25.00 and can be used year to year.
What does the $80.00 program fee cover? The program includes an 8 game schedule and weekly training (i.e. practice), including bi-weekly sessions with advanced-licensed British trainers. Parent volunteer coaches handle the teams.
What player formats are used for games? Younger players play small-sided games on reduced-size fields. U6 and U7 play 3v3 format with no goalie and U8 play a 4v4 format with no goalie. U9/U10 play a 6v6 format with a goalie. U11/U12 play 8v8 and U13/U14 play 11v11.
